A few years ago I had a brainstorm that becoming a personal trainer would be a good way to make funds. I decided that getting a personal trainer certification online would be the ideal way - easy, work on my own schedule, and so forth. The only problem? Before I might get a personal trainer certification, I needed to become in shape myself! My brilliant solution? An aerobics Video.
I bought my first work-out DVD three years ago, and have not used it since. I don't remember what it was called - I've since lost it somewhere in the back recesses of my home, and have not seen it in months, but I do recall some things about it. It was bright pink, and had some smiling guy in spandex and big curls on the cover, saying to you to lose weight. I thought that the aerobic video would motivate me to get my rear in shape, but it was not to be. Instead, my new aerobic DVD just decided to sit in the corner, gathering dust while I sat on the couch, growing fatter and less totally fit.
My second exercises video was a step exercises video, however it did no better. I think I did try that exact aerobic disc a couple of times, but to no avail. I merely felt so ridiculous sitting there at home, undulating along with class on film who weren't even in the room with me, pretending that I was doing something that was not altogether preposterous. I just could not make it a part of my routine. I had originally planned to start every day with the aerobic dvd and a shower, but when I would get out of bed in the morning time, it was the last thing that I wanted to do.
I've had three of 4 aerobic dvds since then and, to be honest with you, none of them have done the trick at all. It basically is not very fun to do exercises alone in the living room, watching your cardio dvd on the tv. Nothing actually happened to get me totally fit from watching the cardio video. Finally, I had to do what I had been dreading all along; I had to enroll in a gym. When I began to get my exercise from exercises classes and not a cardio dvd, it suddenly became so much easier to stick with the program. The lessons got me out of my house, and the people in them were so encouraging, that I just could not help myself. Nearly immediately, I was hooked on taking exercise classes to get totally fit. It was like you could not get me away from them. Meanwhile, every aerobic dvd I have ever owned silently gathers dust in the house of a newer, fitter me.
