Sharon had been engaging in excessive drinking behavior since her sophomore year in college. Now, nine years later, she drank more than ever. One Thursday evening when she was feeling queasy, Sharon decided to stay home, unwind, and watch TV. While hunting for something to watch that would grab hold of her interest, she instantaneously became captivated with a special program about teen and young adult drinking problems.

When the spokesperson went into detail about an individual's symptoms of withdrawal and some of the more normal alcoholism symptoms and signs that alcohol dependent people manifest, Sharon got quite worried because it virtually seemed as if the spokesperson was talking explicitly to her.

After watching the television documentary, Sharon promised herself that she would call her doctor the following morning and make an appointment to discuss her abusive and unhealthy drinking.

When the next business day arrived, true to her word, Sharon called her health care professional and scheduled an appointment. While she was waiting for the day of her appointment to arrive, she went online and did a search for alcoholism symptoms. Especially noteworthy were the following symptoms or signs: sleep problems, increasing irritability, sneaking extra drinks before social events, making excuses to drink at virtually every opportunity, and serious relationship and work-related problems.

In short, since Sharon displayed all of these signs she went into greater detail in her Internet search and found quite a lot of websites and blogs that articulated various alcoholism warning signs and symptoms. One of the signs that really took hold of her curiosity was the following: "Do you often drink after making a promise to yourself that you won't?"

Another alcoholism sign that caught her attention was the following: "Have individuals aggravated you by objecting to your drinking problems?" A third alcohol addiction symptom was the following: "Do you want a drink when you first get up in the morning?"

The final alcoholism warning sign that made her feel especially apprehensive about her irresponsible drinking was the following: "Has your enthusiasm for life dropped off since you started drinking on a regular basis?" When Sharon read this sign she plainly realized that drinking had become a serious problem in her life because of her lack of energy and also because she quit pursuing her goals and her dreams.

After pondering the significance of all of these destructive alcohol addiction signs and symptoms, Sharon at first felt down in the dumps. Then something strange but wonderful took place. She reflected on the fact knew that she was going to see her physician about her irresponsible drinking and she also realized that she would talk about her alcohol addiction warning signs and symptoms.
